Hello world
Jofli's log books
Road Safety and School Travel
Thursday 11th September 08

Today I went to St Nicholas Primary School in Beverley to start a campaign to get more children walking to school, and learning about road safety. Here I am with the Junior Road Safety Officers and the Vice Chairman of East Riding Council.

The children will take it in turns to take Jofli home and write in the logbook about their school journey. The School Journey Story is all about how Jofli and his friend get more children walking to school by sharing their ideas. Hull City football team sponsored the book. Dean Windass their striker was going to come to the school, but he had to go to an important training session instead, boo hoo, we were all very sad.

Hurray!! Dean Windass came to the school after all, and talked to all the children about football, excercise, and healthy eating. He signed books, answered all the questions they had, and even had a photo with every class.

He was great fun, and we were all very pleased that he came. It's not every day you get a famous footballer to visit your school, but now Hull City are in the Premiership, I think Dean should treat himself to a new T-shirt, don't you!

Thursday 30th April 09

Here I am at Bay Primary School in Bridlington. The day was all about safety, excersise and having fun.

These Junior Road Safety Officers are going to tell all the children about the different ways to travel to school.

The Lord Mayor took me for a ride on a scooter, he was funny. I like his fancy clothes but they're not very practical for a travelling bear!

This is what you should wear to be seen, especially at night!
